Fresh seafood with a twist. If looking for a fried seafood platter, this is not the place for you. Excellent wine and draft list. Servers take pride in the service and food. Difficult to get into for a reason.
Easily one of the tastiest meals I ate in downtown Camden. Had the Arctic char and gingerbread cake w/ ginger ice cream for dessert. The owner is also very approachable. If you are in Camden, do yourself a favor and eat at Franny's Bistro for dinner!
We had a delicious dinner here. The place was well decorated. Staff was polite and attentive. The shrimp spring roll appetizer was fantastic! Too many good options on the menu to leave room for dessert. Maybe next time.
We had a reservation. We walked in the front door to a woman at the bar yelling at the people that arrived before us to wait outside. They also had reservations. The woman who seated us was lovely. Our server was a nice young man, but he disappeared on us.
We dined on the bread service 4.5/5, shrimp dumplings 4/5, halibut 4/5, and Shrimp Linguine 4/5.
Good beer, wine, and spirits choices.
First off, you need to be prepared not to get upset about a long wait at the host stand (even with a reservation), and a long wait at the table before you anre addressed. If you can get over those two things, then you are in for a treat. Our server Andjela was amazing. Franny salad as app spilt between two was fantastic and we could not even finish.
Shrimp on linguine was perfect as was the mussels and scallops on grits. This restaurant is much better than the place up the hill that starts with the letter N.

Enjoyed a lovely dinner at Franny’s Bistro. When we arrived we were greeted by a friendly and enthusiastic young man who escorted us to our table. We decided to share the crab cakes for a starter which were excellent. For my main I ordered the mussels and the Franny’s salad. Both were great. My partner ordered the lobster fritters and a salad. We both ordered desserts which were top notch. The dessert portions were a bit on the small side but tasted excellent. We walked out very satisfied. Would definitely recommend.
Great all-around experience.
Started with the shrimp dumplings, the duck confit with arugula, and the mussels. All we’re excellent and showcased the chef’s expertise across several types of cuisine. The mussels in a “puddle” of creamy garlicky goodness were the standout.
For entrees we had the swordfish with chili verde and the halibut. Both were “just off the boat” fresh and cooked perfectly. The sharpness of the verde paired very well with the firm swordfish and a glass of wine
Unfortunately we’re didn’t have room for desert, but the crème brûlée looked amazing!
Cocktails were crafted well and our server Max was very sharp.
Will definitely return next time in the area.
Franny's is such a special place to us. We came here almost every Friday night when we lived in Camden for 8 months during the pandemic - the restaurant is warm and lovely, the food is outstanding, and Jen is the most welcoming host. We recently got married in Camden and hosted a dinner the day after at Franny's with friends who were still in town. Jen and her team made it so special with flower arrangements and a candle-lit table - it was so unexpected and wonderful of them. The food here is always outstanding - the mussels for Jen, root & grits, and steak frites are our among our many favorites. If you're in Camden, you have to dine at this special place where you're truly treated like family.
